What are the tactical and operational challenges of introducing a city hub for last mile delivery? And what problems arise from the frequent use of cargo bikes in the city centre? Within SMiLES we conduct research into these questions. There is a design of a city hub, a container(s) that can be placed in the city center. The aim is to establish a delivery schedule in which goods are delivered to the city hub by large trucks and then delivered by foot and in the future by (e-)bikes to the final destination.
