Car sharing: what convinces you?

Photo: Auto van de straat projec and researcher Michelle Lohmeyer

PhD candidate Michelle Lohmeyer from the SMiLES: Shared Connectivity in Mobility & Logistics Enabling Sustainability project was interviewed by Hive.Mobility about her research on car sharing. For what reasons would people want to share a car with their neighbors instead of driving their own car? What do people think about car sharing and what are their experiences? And is it actually more sustainable? To answer these questions she followed three groups of local residents in North Holland for over a year. They participated in the Auto van de Straat (Car of the Street) pilot run by the environmental organization Natuur & Milieu (Nature & Environment).
